Our founders have a combined 26 years of editorial experience. Editorial problems that would have been huge challenges when we started as editors are now simple and easy to overcome. We've developed strategies and methodologies that allow us to run the editorial process like a smoothly oiled machine.

Author management and recruiting
We work with more than 200 writers, in many cases best-selling book authors and leading experts. We have good systems for keeping track of authors and we have a large group of authors to go to for content -- with one of the largest selection of on-call subject-matter experts in technology publishing. Author recruiting is a constant part of the ZATZ editorial process, with a dedicated Editorial Coordinator assigned to each publication as a facilitator.

We also run a system of Sr. Technical Editors and Contributing Editors, extremely well respected experts in the field, who are active contributors, advisors, and representatives of the magazines to industry.

All authors are automatically assigned a special "author page" on the ZATZ site. Each author page contains a complete bibliography of the author’s contributions across ZATZ publications, along with links to each article.

AuthorPower
AuthorPower, at http://www.authorpower.com, is one of our systems that works to help manage authors. We've got a place and a method for managing how products are updated for review, and what article topics there are.

In addition, we have style guides, writing tutorials, examples of the editorial process, and much more, making it possible for new author experts to come up to speed quickly and for experienced authors to complete their assignments faster. This is a tool for author and content management that is unique in the publishing industry.
